Live updates: Fauci set for grilling on COVID origins, NIH records scandal | Health Care News

Anthony Fauci, the face of the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is set to appear before a congressional committee Monday for the first time since retiring about 18 months ago.

During that time, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has made little progress in its mission of discovering the origins of the virus, but has made a series of embarrassing findings about Fauci's colleagues.

His testimony comes on the heels of two highly contentious hearings before the subcommittee that raised questions over the level of oversight and conduct that went on in his agency, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci did return to the Capitol earlier this year for two days of closed-door interviews with the subcommittee. Transcripts of those all-day interviews were published Friday.
